The Municipal Council of Angra do Heroísmo has issued a notice regarding traffic restrictions in the city. Vehicle traffic will be restricted on various streets in the historic centre on 29 August 2026, with the start scheduled for 10:00 PM.
The restriction covers an extensive route that includes Rua da Sé, Rua do Palácio, Largo Prior do Crato, Largo da Memória, Rua do Pisão, Ladeira de S. Francisco, Praça Velha, Rua Direita, Rua da Esperança, Rua Carreira dos Cavalos, Rua da Rosa, Rua dos Canos Verdes, among other roads.
The event that motivates these restrictions is the athletics race and walk called "Angra By Night". The race runs through various streets of the city and ends at Praça Velha, in the parishes of Sé and Conceição.
Citizens are advised to consult alternative routes during the event period, as the affected streets will be restricted for several hours during the night.
