Rain in areas destroyed by this week's flash floods in Nepal causes new floods

Rain fell over areas already devastated by the flash floods that hit Nepal this week, causing new floods in the affected areas. The phenomenon again put local populations at risk as they tried to recover from previous flooding.

Among the most affected locations are tunnels where people remain trapped, with no way to get out. Some areas have become completely inaccessible, hindering rescue operations and the distribution of humanitarian aid.

Authorities warn of the continued risk of new flash floods, as weather conditions remain unstable and the already saturated soil cannot absorb the rainwater.
