The Municipality of Oleiros formalized its membership in the Walking Cities and Towns Network at a ceremony held in the Noble Hall of the Town Hall. The integration into the network was marked by the signing of the adhesion protocol and the delivery of the respective Flag to the municipality of Oleiros.
The network is managed by the Institute of Cities and Towns with Mobility, an entity dedicated to promoting sustainable mobility and enhancing localities that invest in more sustainable modes of transportation, such as walking.
With this membership, the Municipality of Oleiros reinforces its commitment to sustainable mobility policies and the promotion of healthy lifestyles. Integration into this network also allows the municipality to benefit from sharing experiences and good practices with other participating cities and towns.
This formalization is part of a growing movement of Portuguese municipalities seeking to join networks dedicated to pedestrian and sustainable mobility, promoting walking as a form of transportation and leisure.
