Large Business Area in Alentejo to Become Reality. Location "Depends on Technical Study" - Minister Castro Almeida

The Minister of Economy and Territorial Cohesion, Manuel Castro Almeida, confirmed that the project to create a large business area in the Interior of Alentejo will move forward, but the exact location has not yet been defined and will depend on a technical study to be carried out by CCDR Alentejo. The seven municipalities of the region — Alandroal, Borba, Estremoz, Redondo, Reguengos de Monsaraz, Sousel and Vila Viçosa — propose that the infrastructure be installed near Technical Station No. 2 of the Southern International Corridor. The minister emphasized that the choice must be based on technical criteria such as accessibility, water and energy availability, and orography, rather than purely political considerations. The estimated cost for the project ranges from 11 to 15 million euros, and the project is considered strategic for the Marble and Alqueva Region.
