Portugal will face a significant change in weather conditions after an end of August marked by rain. The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) predicts the arrival of high temperatures starting Wednesday.

Temperatures should rise between 10 to 12 degrees in some regions of mainland Portugal. This abrupt rise will cause thermometers to reach values close to 42 degrees in various areas of the country.

The transition from a rainy period to this intense heat represents a typical climate change at the beginning of September in Portugal, when summer is still felt strongly. IPMA continues to monitor the evolution of this weather situation.
