The Alvor-Bravura water system is receiving modernization works worth 15 million euros, funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR). The intervention aims to modernize the entire water distribution system in the region.
According to the Minister of Agriculture, José Manuel Fernandes, this intervention could reduce water currently used in the system by 60%. This reduction represents estimated savings of 19 million cubic meters of water per year.
The project is part of a context of need to optimize water resources, particularly relevant for the Algarve region, where efficient water management is a constant concern. The modernization of the system allows for more efficient distribution and significantly reduces losses.
