The Municipal Secretariat for Environment and Climate reopened the Municipal Natural Park of Serra do Mendanha, in Bangu, in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, this Sunday. The park had been closed for renovations since January 2025 and is now available again to the public.
One of the main renovated attractions is the natural water pool, which underwent floor improvements, with waterproofing, and had its coating redone. The park also features a children's playground, equipped with a slide, swing and climbing frame, as well as a set of bicycle racks.
To serve visitors, the site has a drinking fountain, three bathrooms and a changing room. The main access to the park is at Estrada da Caixinha, 100, in Bangu, in the West Zone, and it is open from Tuesday to Sunday.
