Tim Cook will cease to be CEO of Apple next Tuesday, September 1, ending 15 years at the head of the technology company. Cook assumed the position in 2011 following the death of Steve Jobs, his direct predecessor.
His successor will be John Ternus, who has been responsible for the engineering of practically all of the firm's products during his career at Apple. Ternus is a key figure in the company's hardware development.
During Cook's tenure, Apple's stock multiplied by 24, an exceptional growth that positioned the company as one of the most valuable in the world. Currently, Apple competes with Nvidia to become the largest company in the world.
The transition represents one of the most significant moments in Apple's corporate history, marking the end of an era that began more than a decade ago under Cook's leadership.
