Owners with IMI above 500 euros have until the end of the day to pay the 2nd installment

Property owners in Portugal who have a Municipal Property Tax (IMI) exceeding 500 euros have until the end of today to pay the second installment of this tax.

This deadline is relevant for taxpayers who did not pay the full amount to the Tax and Customs Authority in one go, at the time of the first installment, which took place in May.

Property owners with IMI equal to or below 500 euros usually have only one installment, while higher amounts are normally divided into two or three installments throughout the year.

Those who do not meet the deadline are subject to interest and other penalties for late payment of the tax.

Ludgero Marques: Seguro remembers a prominent figure of business associations

President of the Republic António José Seguro expressed deep sorrow over the death of Ludgero Marques, at age 88, describing him as one of the most prominent figures in Portuguese business associations. Ludgero Marques led the Portuense Industrial Association between 1985 and 2008, a period during which the institution transformed into the Business Association of Portugal. A native of Santa Maria da Feira, he graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Porto and headed several companies, including the taps and ceramics manufacturer Cifial. He received several honorary distinctions, including the rank of Grand-Officer of the Order of Prince Henry. The funeral will be held at the Matrix Church of Rio Meão, followed by the crematorium in Aveiro.
