Ten men, aged between 19 and 46, were arrested on Friday dawn in Vila do Bispo for circulation smuggling. The arrests were carried out by military personnel from the Criminal Investigation Unit (NIC) of Portimão, after they detected suspicious movements and approached two light commercial vehicles.
According to the GNR Territorial Command of Faro, the suspects were moving fuel and various material destined for the supply and logistical support of a vessel associated with drug trafficking.
During the operation, which had the reinforcement of the Faro Intervention Detachment and the Coastal and Border Control Unit, the two vehicles were seized, 214 fuel jerry cans with a capacity of 20 liters each, 10 drums of oil for boat engines with five liters each, two drums with components for engine maintenance, a video surveillance camera with solar panel, a water pump, and four bags with food products and beverages.
