The Federal Revenue carried out this Monday the payment of the fourth and last batch of Individual Income Tax refunds referring to August 2026. The deposit covers taxpayers who filed their returns without pending issues, in addition to residual refunds from previous tax years. The money was credited throughout the day to the beneficiaries' accounts.

In total, 521,935 refunds are being paid, totaling R$ 1.2 billion. The amount was distributed following the priority order established by law, which gives preference to more vulnerable groups and those who used facilitation mechanisms in their returns.

Among the beneficiaries, 16,850 refunds are destined for elderly people over 80 years old, while 86,873 are for people between 60 and 79 years old. Other priority groups include 9,029 taxpayers with physical, mental, or serious illness disabilities, and 26,769 people whose main source of income is teaching.

The largest volume of refunds in this batch, 338,912 in total, was destined for taxpayers who used pre-filled returns and/or chose to receive via Pix. Consultation of the payment batch can be done through the official Federal Revenue channels.

The spokesperson for the European Executive stated that Brazil is an important partner of the EU and that they are working constructively with Brazilian authorities to ensure compliance with the requirements, allowing the resumption of exports after such compliance is demonstrated.
