Correio Alentejo31 August 2026 at 01:00

The regional program Alentejo 2030 opened applications, until December 21st, for a call for proposals with a budget of 10 million euros destined for the creation or expansion of business reception areas. The Managing Authority of the program is responsible for managing this call, named "New Generation Business Reception Infrastructure – ITI CIM", which provides 2.5 million euros specifically for Baixo Alentejo.

The program aims to support investments that strengthen economic competitiveness, attract investment, and promote balanced development of territories. Projects for the creation of new business reception areas, expansion or increase of capacity of existing business areas, and requalification of business reception areas when integrated in expansion operations will be supported.

The creation of new non-technological business incubators, expansion of capacity of existing incubators, and requalification of incubators, complementing expansion operations, are also covered by the call for proposals. Eligible investments include infrastructure, equipment, and, in the case of business reception areas, complementary accesses.

The support aims to expand the territorial coverage of infrastructure supporting business competitiveness, aligned with digital and climate transitions. The objective is to enhance the creation and growth of companies, strengthen the competitiveness of SMEs, and promote job creation in the region.

The spokesperson for the European Executive stated that Brazil is an important partner of the EU and that they are working constructively with Brazilian authorities to ensure compliance with the requirements, allowing the resumption of exports after such compliance is demonstrated.
