Investment in savings certificates reached record values again

Investment in savings certificates once again reached record values in July, according to data from the Bank of Portugal. The total amount invested rose to 43,851 million euros, representing year-on-year growth of 14.7%.

This was the 22nd consecutive month of increased investment in this financial product. The growth trend has been consistent for almost two years, with demand for savings certificates remaining one of the preferred options for investors.

Data from the Bank of Portugal confirm that savings certificates continue to be a popular choice among Portuguese people looking for lower-risk investments.

Ludgero Marques: Seguro remembers a prominent figure of business associations

President of the Republic António José Seguro expressed deep sorrow over the death of Ludgero Marques, at age 88, describing him as one of the most prominent figures in Portuguese business associations. A native of Santa Maria da Feira, he graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Porto and headed several companies, including the taps and ceramics manufacturer Cifial. He received several honorary distinctions, including the rank of Grand-Officer of the Order of Prince Henry. The funeral will be held at the Matrix Church of Rio Meão, followed by the crematorium in Aveiro.
