Maximum temperatures will rise significantly in mainland Portugal from Wednesday onwards, with an increase of 10 to 12 degrees Celsius in some locations, according to the Portuguese Institute for the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).
The expected thermal values will be high, possibly reaching 40 to 42 degrees in regions such as the Tagus Valley, Beira Baixa and Alentejo.
This weather situation affects mainland Portugal broadly, with particularly strong impact on the southern and central interior regions of the country.
