The first artificial intelligence-assisted surgery to remove a brain tumor was successfully performed in London. The procedure prevented the patient from losing their vision, representing a milestone in the application of advanced medical technology in neurosurgery.

Artificial intelligence algorithms are already widely used in surgical operation planning, allowing surgeons to prepare procedures with greater precision and anticipate possible complications during interventions.

According to neurosurgeon Bruno Lourenço Costa, this AI-assisted surgery represents the next step in the evolution of neurosurgery, demonstrating how technology can function as a complementary tool for surgeons, offering additional support during complex procedures.

The application of artificial intelligence during surgery provided the medical team with a kind of "second pair of eyes", enabling more informed decisions in real time and contributing to more favorable outcomes for the patient.
