The Carmen Miranda Museum, located in Flamengo, Rio de Janeiro, celebrates its 50th anniversary with the opening of the free exhibition "Carmen: Rio remix," this Monday (31st). The show explores the relationship between the singer and the Wonderful City, mixing historical collection with audiovisual resources, contemporary productions, and student work from UFRJ's School of Fine Arts.
The "remix" concept is used to bring together different moments of the artist's career. The route addresses the Rio de Janeiro that influenced Carmen, the image of the city and Brazilian culture projected by her internationally, as well as the impact of this repertoire in the present.
To mark the opening of the exhibition, the space hosts a show by harpist Cristina Braga, at 4pm. The exhibition is located at Av. Rui Barbosa s/nº, in Flamengo Park.
