Deadline to pay IRS for 2025 ends today

The deadline to pay IRS for 2025 ends today. Taxpayers must ensure payment is made within the established deadline to avoid penalties.

In the case of refunds, the Tax and Customs Authority (AT) also has until today to return excess amounts owed to taxpayers.

This obligation applies to taxpayers who submitted their IRS declaration within the legal deadline, that is, by June 30.

The AT must comply with the maximum payment deadline simultaneously with the closure of the period for tax assessment by taxpayers.

15 million euro works at Alvor-Bravura could allow 60% water savings

The Minister of Agriculture and the Sea, José Manuel Fernandes, visited on 28 August the modernization works of the Alvor Hydro-Agricultural Development, in the Alvor-Bravura Irrigation Perimeter, in the Algarve. With an investment of approximately 15 million euros secured by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), this is considered the largest irrigation modernization project currently underway in the Algarve region. The project aims to reduce water losses in the distribution system, potentially allowing savings of approximately 60% of water used, equivalent to approximately 19 million cubic meters per year and annual savings close to two million euros. The intervention includes the construction of a new reservoir, pumping station and filtration station, as well as the modernization of channels and the installation of photovoltaic panels for energy efficiency. A second phase estimated at 40 million euros is also planned.
