Colombian president apologizes for violating state secularism

Colombian President Abelardo de la Espriella publicly apologized this Sunday for having violated the principle of state secularism during his inauguration ceremony, held three weeks earlier. The apology was issued after a judge's order.

The inauguration ceremony of the far-right leader featured the participation of a rabbi, a Catholic priest, and an evangelical pastor. The event included an "invocation and praise" with chants, prayers, and shouts of "Long Live Israel!", as well as an altar of Our Lady of Fatima.

After being ordered by the judge to apologize, Espriella exclaimed "Long Live Christ!" in a message transmitted on social media. He stated that his president remains firm for the nation and asked that God bless Colombia, saying "just as the Constitution pro..."
