Workers on sick leave will no longer receive letters from Social Security and notifications will arrive by email

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General31 August 2026 at 06:38

Starting September 1st, workers on medical leave will stop receiving letters by postal mail from Social Security. All notifications and communications will be sent by email.

If workers wish to respond or challenge any administrative procedure, they must do so through digital means or by requesting a prior appointment.

This reform was promoted by the Government to modify the communication channels between the General Treasury of Social Security and citizens, now prioritizing electronic notifications.
