L'Alcora commemorated last Sunday 325 years of devotion to the Most Holy Christ of Calvary, on the main religious day of its festivities. The celebration was marked by emotion, tradition and a massive procession that once again accompanied the image to Calvary.
This year the event had an additional attraction: the recovery of the fireworks castle after several years without being able to be held. The pyrotechnic show was presented at the end of the procession, thus returning to a tradition that had been suspended for some time.
The devotion to the Christ of Calvary in L'Alcora dates back 325 years, making it one of the most important and longest-lasting religious celebrations in the region. The image of the Most Holy Christ of Calvary is carried in procession to Calvary, along a route that brings together thousands of faithful and devotees.
The festival organizers reported that popular participation exceeded expectations, with the streets of the town filled with people who wanted to witness this historic milestone of local religious tradition.
