The United States holds the G20 presidency this year, and the Treasury is responsible for access to the negotiations that will bring together finance ministers and central bank presidents from the world's major economies on Monday and Tuesday.
In an unusual move, journalists from The New York Times, Bloomberg News, and The Wall Street Journal were not accredited for the event. Bloomberg News reported that its reporters in the United States, France, Italy, Japan, and China had their accreditation requests denied by the Treasury Department.
