Trump says he does not rule out 'reviewing' US position on Falklands

United States President Donald Trump said on Monday (31st) that he does not rule out "reviewing" the American position on the sovereignty of the Falkland Islands, an archipelago claimed by Argentina but currently administered by the United Kingdom. Trump said he "always reviews every position" when questioned by journalists at the White House. According to the British newspaper Daily Telegraph, Washington would be willing to change this stance to pressure the United Kingdom into increasing its military spending. Traditionally, the United States recognizes British administration of the archipelago but does not take a position on sovereignty, a position contested by Argentina.
