According to Jardim, the opposing team may think that Flamengo "gets 10 chances and doesn't score," which encourages the opponent's comeback. He defended that the team didn't relax, but suffers from fatigue.
Jardim stated that the squad exists precisely because the team will tire if they play with high intensity at all times. For him, not all starters can maintain their level until the end of the match, and Flamengo's style of play is demanding, without enough players to play every game at maximum intensity.
