The mining identity of Castro Verde will be celebrated, starting Friday, in another edition of the Castro Mineiro Festival. The event returns for another edition dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of the mining traditions and culture of the region.
For three days, the festival presents a diverse set of cultural and gastronomic proposals designed for various audiences. The program includes activities for families, children and adults, seeking to cover the different interests of visitors.
Castro Verde, located in Baixo Alentejo, is historically known for its connection to mining activity, especially iron ore extraction. The Castro Mineiro Festival emerged as a way to keep alive the memory and traditions of this activity that marked the identity of the local community.
