Portugal finished this Sunday the World Speed and Paracanoe Championship, in Poznań, Poland, with a total of four medals. The highlight of the Portuguese competition was Fernando Pimenta, who won two world titles during the event.
The Portuguese canoeist closed the competition with another victory on the last day, winning the K1 5000 meters final with a time of 24:15.72. This result confirmed the excellent form of the Portuguese athlete in the long-distance event.
With these results, Portugal finished the World Championship with four medals in total, a balance considered positive by the Portuguese delegation present in Poznań. Fernando Pimenta was the main responsible for this result, guaranteeing half of the Portuguese medals in the competition.
