The São Paulo State Civil Defense issued severe alerts this Sunday (30th), at 3:25 PM, due to the approach of heavy rain nuclei in the capital and metropolitan region. The alerts cover the East Zone of the capital and ABC Paulista, where there are reports of intense rain with lightning, strong winds and possibility of hail, as well as the Embu region.
The rain system is moving toward the West and South zones of the capital, also with risk of lightning, intense winds and hail. Civil Defense recommends that residents in affected areas seek shelter in safe locations during the occurrence of lightning, strong winds and hail.
Among the safety guidelines, Civil Defense recommends avoiding open areas, trees, metallic structures and places susceptible to flooding. In case of strong winds, the guidance is to stay away from windows and not remain under trees. During storms, it is also recommended to avoid using electrical equipment connected to the outlet.
