Nepal: Death toll exceeds 800

Search operations following the flood that struck Nepal on Wednesday, on the border with China, are ongoing and authorities on both sides of the border have already counted 804 dead swept away by mud and more than 3,000 missing.

The death toll exceeds 800, a number that continues to rise as rescue teams advance operations in the affected areas.

Nepalese and Chinese authorities are coordinating disaster response efforts, working together to locate survivors and recover bodies swept away by mud.

The disaster occurred on Wednesday in the border region between Nepal and China, causing massive destruction with thousands of people still missing.

Conscious throughout the incident, she was taken to Portimão Hospital and later transferred by helicopter to Lisbon, where she learned the extent of the injury. After treatments, physiotherapy, and surgery to reposition the displaced vertebrae, Susana refused to accept the prognosis and managed to walk again about three months later, in a recovery process she decided to share publicly.
