A 34-year-old woman was found dead inside her own home in Jardim Castro Alves, in the South Zone of São Paulo, on Sunday morning (30). The victim was targeted by gunshots. The case was registered as femicide.
The main suspect is the victim's boyfriend, a 42-year-old man. Police are trying to locate him and investigate the motive for the crime, according to information from the Public Security Secretariat (SSP).
The state of São Paulo and the capital recorded a record number of femicides in 2025, with 266 cases, the highest in the historical series. In 2024, there were 246 cases, indicating significant growth.
The increase in femicide cases is observed throughout the country, context that reinforces the gravity of the case registered in São Paulo's capital.
