Narana Coissoró dies at 94

Narana Coissoró died at the age of 94. The news of his passing was recently announced, marking the end of the life of a historical figure of Portuguese politics.

Coissoró was a deputy to the Assembly of the Republic for CDS, the Social Democratic Centre, during several legislative terms. His political career developed over several decades in service of the party of Christian-democratic inspiration.

CDS, the party to which he devoted most of his life, is currently undergoing a process of reorganization, after losing its parliamentary representation in recent years. Coissoró's death represents the loss of a historical reference point for the party and for the Portuguese right.
