A first-level alert was triggered for a wildfire in the area of São João das Lampas, in the municipality of Sintra, district of Lisbon. The first alert dispatch indicates a situation that requires immediate mobilization of firefighting resources.

Authorities mobilized a total of 28 operatives to the fire location. A total of 5 ground vehicles were also deployed for firefighting and containment operations.

In addition to ground resources, an aerial resource was also activated to support firefighting operations. This type of resource is frequently used in wildfires for direct attack on flames and logistical support to teams on the ground.

The alert is taking place in the area of the municipality of Sintra, known for its significant vegetation cover and proximity to forest areas, which makes this type of occurrence particularly relevant for the civil protection authorities in the Lisbon region.

Susana Cristeta, at 22 years old, suffered a serious accident at a water park in the Algarve in the mid-90s, when she was going down a slide and two people crashed into her, causing a spinal injury that left her tetraplegic with a prognosis of being in a wheelchair. Conscious throughout the incident, she was taken to Portimão Hospital and later transferred by helicopter to Lisbon, where she learned the extent of the injury. After treatments, physiotherapy, and surgery to reposition the displaced vertebrae, Susana refused to accept the prognosis and managed to walk again about three months later, in a recovery process she decided to share publicly.
