A public tender of 2.1 million euros for the requalification of health centers in Oliveira de Azeméis received practically no proposals. The investment, funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan, aimed to modernize the health units of the municipality.
Five of the six interventions planned in the tender received no proposals from companies interested in carrying out the works. Only one of the interventions managed to attract interest from bidders.
The situation puts at risk the planned schedule for the modernization of the health units in the municipality, as the execution timelines set under the European funding may be compromised by the lack of response from the construction market.
Local authorities now face the challenge of reformulating their strategy to carry out these interventions, seeking alternatives to attract companies willing to carry out the requalification works at the health centers in Oliveira de Azeméis.
