"DAQUI" EXHIBITION INVITES REFLECTION ON MEMORY, MIGRATION AND IDENTITY IN MIRANDELA

The Ecoteca of Mirandela hosted the presentation of the exhibition "Daqui / Husi Ne'e / Hikhola D'Ici / From Here", an artistic project created by Paula Preto that brings together photography, video and illustration to explore people's relationship with the places where they live and those they left behind.

The project addresses migration experiences, individual and collective memories and different ways of constructing a sense of belonging, seeking to create a space for dialogue about what connects each person to a particular territory.

The project's completion involved various people and communities from the territory, including students from the Escola Profissional de Agricultura e Desenvolvimento Rural de Carvalhais, users of the Associação Matiz and residents of different villages, who contributed their own stories and perspectives. The team was also composed of Marta Miranda in mediation and production, Sónia Borges in mediation and illustration, and Pedro Guimarães in design and assembly.

The exhibition starts from a simple question, but open to multiple answers: what does it ultimately mean to belong to a place?

A concretização do projeto envolveu várias pessoas e comunidades do território.
