Lousã with ecopoints full: Municipality points responsibility at ERSUC

Notícias de Coimbra30 August 2026 at 16:42

The Municipality of Lousã came forward publicly to clarify the situation of waste accumulation observed at some ecopoints in the municipality. The municipal executive decided to speak out after reports from citizens about recycling containers being full and without timely collection.

The council points responsibility for the situation at ERSUC, the company responsible for waste management in the region. The municipality argues that the situation does not result from a failure of the Council, but rather from issues related to the operation and collection frequency by the responsible entity.

The clarification note comes at a time when the affected ecopoints continue without proper maintenance, causing inconvenience to the residents of Lousã who wish to correctly separate their waste.
