The president of the Polytechnic University of Bragança (UPB) reacted with "joy and surprise" to the announcement made today by the prime minister about the transformation of the institution into the University of Bragança and the Interior North. The official expressed optimism regarding the impact of this change for the region.

The president believes that this transition will attract investment and new students to the institution. This change represents a significant alteration in the polytechnic's status, which would become a university.

The prime minister's announcement comes as part of a broader initiative to reorganize higher education in the region, with the aim of strengthening the educational offerings and research capacity of the Interior North.
