The Grande Rota da Transumância will hold on September 13 the seventh stage of the route, on a walk between Cortelha do André and Fernão Joanes, in the municipality of Guarda. The initiative is integrated in the traditional Transhumance Festival and counts with the participation of more than a thousand sheep.
The route is approximately five kilometers long and the start is scheduled for 8:30 AM. Participants are invited to accompany the flock throughout the route, in an activity that combines tradition and contact with nature.
The event takes place within the scope of the Transhumance Festival, which celebrates this ancestral practice of moving herds between the highlands and the lowlands, keeping alive a tradition that is part of the identity of the Guarda region.
The organization invites all interested parties to participate in this walk that promises to offer a unique experience of immersion in the transhumant culture of the region, with participants being able to closely follow the movement of the numerous flock.
