António Brás Monteiro, Portuguese specialist in defence and security, was recently elected chairman of a working group of the NATO Industrial Advisory Group (NIAG) dedicated to air and missile defence.
Brás Monteiro worked several years at Tekever, a Portuguese company of drones and autonomous systems that achieved unicorn status, meaning it reached a valuation of over one billion dollars.
NIAG is a high-level advisory body of NATO that ensures a structured link between the defence industry and the military alliance, functioning as a dialogue platform between the industrial and military sectors.
This appointment represents international recognition of Portuguese competence in the field of defence and security, placing a national specialist in a strategic position to influence the future of NATO's air and missile defence.
