The electronic voting machine will feature a progress bar on the screen during the 2026 General Elections. The visual feature, located at the top of the display, will show in real time the voting stages, indicating the positions already voted on and those still remaining.
This change is part of the set of interface updates announced by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) for the next elections. The indicator's purpose is to guide voters as they enter their votes, especially in elections with multiple positions at stake.
According to the TSE, the tool allows voters to check exactly how the voting process is progressing before it ends with the voting machine's sound signal. In addition to the progress bar, the equipment's interface received a redesign of the screens and a change in the typography of the text.
The Electoral Justice adopted the Atkinson Hyperlegible font, created by the Braille Institute, with greater contrast, spacing, and character definition to facilitate reading.
