Benfica returned to competition in the Record International Masters Futsal 2026 and achieved an expressive victory by defeating Jimbee Cartagena 5-2. The Spanish team was the fourth-placed team in the Spanish League last season.
The Eagles arrived at halftime already with an advantage on the scoreboard and controlled most of the match, allowing only a greater reaction from the opponent in the final stretch of the game. The red and white team demonstrated superiority during long periods and confirmed the quality of their offensive solutions.
Jimbee Cartagena started with a lower defensive line, which allowed Benfica to assume play-building from the back. Gugiel once again took an important role in coach Cassiano Klein's strategy, regularly appearing as an advanced goalkeeper in the opening minutes.
The Brazilian coach also promoted a constant rotation of the field quartet, using Tchuda, left-footed, and Rúben Góis, right-footed, to provide width to the game, both in the middle and on the wings.
