The house payment will register in September the biggest increase in the last three years, with hikes that can vary between 23 and 70 euros, depending on the Euribor associated with the housing credit contract. This rise will be the most pronounced since the end of 2023.
The rise in Euribor rates in August, in a context of war between the United States and Iran and new pressure on oil prices, should be reflected directly in loans that are revised in September.
The European Central Bank admitted the risk of losing control of inflation, which worsens the outlook for borrowers with housing credit indexed to Euribor rates.
The information was reported by ECO, which carried out simulations for a reference loan, demonstrating the significant impact of this update on the household finances of Portuguese families.
