Mariana Leitão, leader of Iniciativa Liberal, made an intervention in Quarteira where she accused PS and PSD of abandoning the Portuguese middle class. According to the party president, this social class is "under attack" by the two main political forces in the country.
The liberal leader presented a set of proposals to counter this situation. Among the measures defended are the reduction of income tax, the elimination of excessive bureaucracy and the reform of the pension system in Portugal.
Mariana Leitão's party positions itself as an alternative to the two largest parties, criticizing the policies followed by both the Socialist Party and the Social Democratic Party regarding the middle class.
