Slovenian cyclist Tadej Pogacar, number one in the world ranking, is in Barcelona to undergo a surgical procedure. The objective of the operation is to reduce a displaced fracture of the left clavicle he suffered during a fall in the eighth stage of the Vuelta.
The procedure will be performed by Dr. Xavier Mir, considered one of the best traumatology specialists in the world. The surgery is scheduled to take place at the Dexeus clinic in Barcelona.
Pogacar was forced to abandon the Vuelta after the fall that caused the clavicle injury. This displaced fracture forced the rider to seek specialized treatment outside his country of origin.
