The Castro Mineiro Festival takes place between September 4th and 6th in Castro Verde, in the Alentejo region. The event celebrates the mining culture and identity of the region, inviting visitors to discover archaeological treasures, mining heritage, nature and local wines.
During the three days of the festival, participants can visit the mines of the region, learn about the historical heritage linked to mining activity and explore the natural richness that surrounds Castro Verde.
The program also includes traditional cultural manifestations, such as Alentejo traditional songs, which represent the musical identity of the region. Gastronomy also has its space, with taverns where visitors can taste local specialties.
The festival also offers wine tastings, allowing participants to discover and taste the nectar produced in the Alentejo region. The event thus serves as an opportunity for tourism and cultural promotion of Castro Verde and its mining traditions.
