Five days after the disaster that hit Nepal, rescue teams continue to face enormous difficulties in the field to try to save lives. Although several days have already passed since the tragedy, there is still hope of finding people alive under the rubble or in remote areas of the country.
The mobilization of rescue teams proves to be extremely complex, with logistical obstacles that hinder the progress of operations. Reaching the most critical locations remains a considerable challenge for the rescuers trying to access areas affected by the disaster.
The challenges on the ground include difficulties in accessing remote areas, adverse logistical conditions and the need to coordinate rescue operations in Nepali territory. Rescue teams remain in the field, although the passage of days makes the search and rescue work progressively more difficult.
