JOSÉ PINA RECEIVES INTERNATIONAL DISTINCTION FROM WAKO FOR MORE THAN 30 YEARS OF DEDICATION TO KICKBOXING

Canal N – Notícias – Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro30 August 2026 at 10:26

José Pina, president of the National Federation of Kickboxing and Muaythai (FNKDA) and master and former champion from Mirandela, was honored by WAKO (World Association of Kickboxing Organizations) for his contribution of more than three decades to the development of the sport. The tribute took place during the opening ceremony of the Kickboxing World Cup in Hungary, where the organization recognized individuals who played a decisive role in the international establishment of kickboxing.

José Pina is also the mentor of Ginásio Clube Mirandelense, a structure that continues to assert itself in competition through the results of its athletes and the training of generations of practitioners. His journey began on the tatamis of Mirandela, later assuming a leadership and training role that continues to this day.

For the FNKDA, the recognition awarded by the main world organization of the sport honors not only its president but all the work developed by national kickboxing. The distinction thus represents the recognition of a career dedicated to athlete training, sport promotion, and the valorization of Portuguese kickboxing.

With this honor, José Pina is positioned among the personalities recognized for their long-term contribution to world kickboxing, a journey that began on the tatamis and that, more than 30 years later, continues to be linked to training, competition, and the construction of the future of the sport.
