Hugo Freitas de Sousa, from the island of Terceira in the Azores, was detained by ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) about a month ago. The Portuguese national is being held at an immigration center in Tacoma, United States.
The Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that a return flight date has already been scheduled for Hugo Freitas de Sousa to return to Portugal. The return is set for the month of September.
Portuguese consular authorities will be monitoring the case, ensuring consular assistance to the national citizen during the detention period and facilitating the repatriation process.
