The representative unions and associations of the Public Security Police and National Republican Guard are unhappy with the lack of response from the Ministry of Internal Administration. They have been waiting for solutions to their problems for three months without obtaining any concrete resolution.
Security force members express their exhaustion with the situation and admit they may organize street demonstrations again as a form of pressure. This would not be the first time they choose this form of protest to draw attention to their demands.
The Ministry of Internal Administration, led by Luís Neves, promised to schedule meetings with representatives of police officers and guards for the month of September. However, the unions consider this deadline too long and that the issues they raise require more immediate resolution.
