A 44-year-old man died this morning at Dr Nélio Mendonça Hospital, in Funchal, after being hit by a vehicle on Saturday evening near Hotel Baía Azul, on Estrada Monumental. The victim did not survive the serious injuries caused by the hit-and-run.

The man was struck by a vehicle around 8 PM. The driver of the car fled the scene without providing any assistance to the victim, according to information first reported by DIÁRIO.

The hit-and-run occurred in the late afternoon of last Saturday, near Hotel Baía Azul, on Estrada Monumental, in Funchal. The man died this morning at Dr Nélio Mendonça Hospital.
