A wildfire broke out in the Furneira area, causing concern among authorities and the local population. The fire is burning in a pine area and has already begun to spread to another hillside, making the work of operatives on the ground more difficult.
Four fire brigades were mobilized to combat the flames. Firefighters are fighting the fire in "triangulation," a technique that allows them to attack the fire from several strategic points simultaneously, trying to encircle the progression of the flames.
The situation is particularly complicated by the fact that the firefighting helicopter cannot operate during the night period. This limitation significantly reduces the available resources to control the fire during the night, when conditions may be more favorable for the spread of the flames.
