BE refuses to participate in right-wing "championship" around Chega's censure motion

RTP Notícias29 August 2026 at 22:30

The leader of the Left Block (BE), José Manuel Pureza, rejected today supporting the censure motion announced by Chega. Pureza considered that the initiative serves a "championship of radicalization between the right-wing parties". BE thus decided not to participate in this political action by the Chega party. This position of the Left Block arises in the context of a censure motion presented by Chega, which has been polarizing the Portuguese political spectrum.
