Protest in Setúbal challenges possible privatization of Arrábida beaches

Hundreds of people demonstrated this Saturday in Setúbal against the possible privatization of Arrábida beaches. The protest took place around 19:00 at Praça do Bocage and was organized by the movement "Deslarguem a Arrábida!", which defends public access to these beaches.

The demonstration comes at a time when legal proceedings are underway related to the ownership of five beaches and other land in the Arrábida region, calling into question the free access that traditionally exists in these areas.

The movement organizing the protest has been warning about the risks of privatization and the need to ensure that Arrábida's beaches remain accessible to the public, considering them a common good that should be protected.
